disneyland.

probably is true to be “the happiest place on earth.” i was amazed by everything it offered and i was only at california adventure theme park. it was cool to see disney be brought to life and all that it offered. i watched the aladdin play - that was awesome! there was so much to do and so much to see and it was cool to see everything be interactive!

but i think the coolest thing to watch was World of color. WOW. that was amazing and really awesome. it was so impressive to see how such a beautiful show could be made out of water and lights! even though i was far away and was not able to see the show clearly, it was still reallly good. see for yourself! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o0Icz6ExiM

disney is truly something amazing and i cannot wait to see where it could go next!

retreat

retreat. body builders. my final retreat as a youth student. it was great! i had a lot of fun and was encouraged a lot to see the youth group grow. the idea of community was in my head throughout the whole retreat and i could really see how God was working within the youth group - so much encouragement and involvement with everyone!

it was good to finally clear the air too and go a step further in our brotherhood!

i also “won” my first games ever for retreat lol! upon hearing my group for the first time, i was not toooo happy - thinking aw its not stacked, i wont have that good of a group…but it turned out to be a group i was happy to be with. everyone was awesome and we had a lot of fun together and worked really well together! the passage in 1 Corinthians 12:21-22 says that even the “weaker” parts of the body need special attention and should not be forgotten, and i believe that my group was a perfect example. i was a little skeptical at first, but when results came out and i saw how well we worked as one BODY, it was amazing. if only skits were not included in games…but oh well we technically won haha! FRIED BANANA TWINKIES!

2 days back, then off to CALI! WOO that is going to be nice. a nice break from everyday, bumming around doing nothing!

tumbl-ing is fun, and i havent done it in a while, but i think ill try to do more of these kinds of things!

helping.

proceeding the watsky/dumbfoundead concert we decided to go to Viva to get some late night grub. While waiting for our food a woman came up to us and asked us for a ride just down the street to get gas. she seemed desperate and in real need of help, so i agreed to take her to get gas as well as to where her car had died down. upon hearing this the woman was nearly brought to tears from relief and went out to her husband. after getting our food we took them and got them to their car.

sure, it may have been sketchy taking a stranger to their car at midnight, but she seemed very genuine and like someone i could trust. it really makes me blessed to be able to have gas, a car that works and where i dont have to worry and guess how much fuel is left in the car. its the little things, the opportunities you take that can really impact a person. the relief she had was surprising and i was shocked when she nearly cried at a simple “yeah i can take you.”

i guess im writing this as a reminder or reflection upon such an event. i did not know her situation or where she was coming from, but after taking her and her husband i was glad i did. they had walked so far and i couldnt imagine walking that distance especially this time of night. once again i am reminded of what i have been blessed with and continue to find opportunities to extend the love and grace i have been shown by Christ onto others.
